What is Required

Hitch Pro dealer and distributorships represent the finest installers and distributors in the industry. As such, Hitch Pros are required to achieve and maintain certain levels of presentation and participation. Hitch Pros are “re-qualified” every year by Cequent Towing Products sales and marketing staff members, using a detailed matrix to determine participation and status. Some of the criteria in this matrix include:
  • Loyalty to Cequent brands.
  • Presentation of Cequent brands and products (in showroom, catalog, on website, etc.).
  • Positioning of Cequent brands and products (in showroom, catalog, on website, etc.) relative to competitors’ brands and products.
  • Payment history.
  • Product training update status.
  • Sales growth pattern.
  • Support of Cequent Towing Nationwide Warranty (NOTE: Very Important! Refusal to support Nationwide Warranty automatically disqualifies a customer from Hitch Pro eligibility).
  • Hitch Pro meeting attendance.
  • Participation in Indemnification Program.
  • Participation in annual EOP (Early Order) program.

Each year, Cequent Towing sales personnel conduct in-depth reviews of each Hitch Pro’s status, and provides Cequent Towing Marketing and Sales Management with their update and recommendation. From this process, each Hitch Pro is re-qualified (or not!) and assigned a level of Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. The level is assigned according to the Cequent Towing salesman/regional manager’s assessment. Of course, the benefits are increased/improved as the status increases.

It’s important to remember that not everyone can be a Hitch Pro…and that not every Hitch Pro can be qualified at the highest levels (Gold, Platinum). It is our intention to create and maintain a special “elite echelon” of dealers and distributors who represent Cequent Towing’s brands in the highest possible fashion. That means creating the best possible customer experience--from initial phone call/web visit/catalog review, to customer visit, to quote, to sale, to follow-up service---every time. Only the best of the best can do that consistently…and only the best can earn the status of Hitch Pro.

As a Hitch Pro, it should be YOUR goal to continue to strive to be the best, every single day. If you’re a Bronze Hitch Pro, you should be discussing what it takes to be as Silver Hitch Pro with your Cequent Towing DSM. If you’re a Silver, you should be striving to be a Gold. If you’re Gold, what would it take to be Platinum? And…if you’re a Platinum…you are clearly the best of the best…so what’s it going to take to keep you there?

At Cequent Towing, we value all of our customers’ businesses. However, we recognize that Hitch Pros have gone above and beyond. That’s why they’re Hitch Pros. We undertook this re-structuring of the Hitch Pro program in 2007 to create more value and recognition for our Hitch Pro customers.
